Kevin Murphy
As a boy Kevin always helped his father out in the vineyard with everything from driving the tractors to collecting samples at harvest time. In those days he didn’t understand the science of growing grapes, but when the refractometer read 25, Kevin knew the grapes were ready.
After high school Kevin decided to defer college and enlist in the Marine Corps. He started out as a heavy equipment operator but then was recruited to become a Rifle Range Coach, Marksmanship Instructor and ultimately was promoted to Marksmanship Training Unit Chief. Kevin was pinned a Sergeant two months before his tour of duty was over. He continues to spend one weekend a month serving his country in the Marine Corps Reserve
Kevin came back to the wine business after leaving the military. He continues to work with Peter in the vineyard management business and at Murphy Vineyards. Kevin applies the precision learned in his military training to the Sales and Marketing efforts at Murphy Vineyards. As Vice President of Ag Tech Services and Murphy Vineyards, Kevin works to develop relationships with growers, retailers and distributors, and expand the Murphy Vineyards brand across the country.
