Best of Class~Gold Medal~2004 Syrah
Enjoyable nose of strawberry mixed with distant camp fire. Flavors of black cherries and spice pair brisk acid with mouthwatering tannins making for a long smooth finish. Ruby red in the glass, this light floral Syrah has distinct aromas of strawberry candy and campfire smoke and opens to flavors of Indian spice and black cherry on the palate. The wine’s brisk acidity, mouth-watering tannins and smooth, mineral finish make it exceptionally food-friendly.

Like Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley, the Sierra Foothills is Syrah country. Like the 2004, this Syrah starts with a smoky nose of grilled fruits and ends with flavors of black cherries and allspice. Made in the lighter style with brisk acidity and mouth-watering tannins, this Syrah pairs beautifully with pork dishes. The floral aromas of this wine are similar to the 2004 Syrah. Medium bodied with full flavors, but not overpowering making a long smooth finish.
