1999 Cabernet Sauvignon
1999 Cabernet Sauvignon- Sold Out!!
The 1999 Cabernet is another 60%-40% blend. The 60% came from a late ripening vineyard in East Napa that benefits from the cool breezes of the San Pablo Bay. The 40% came from the Shenandoah Valley in Amador County. An area known to grow some of the oldest vineyards in the state. This blend created a great balance of the two areas and is a truly enjoyable wine.
1999 Growing Season
"A long, cool spring gave way to a mild summer. With only one heat spike recorded in the first part of July, the 1999 vintage ripened under conditions that allowed a long hang-time that resulted in fruit of concentrated varietal flavors with a strong backbone of acid. Harvest got underway following a weekend of intense summer heat late in September. October proved to be a very active month in vineyards and winery crush pads as red and white grapes reached maturity simultaneously. Napa Valley received only a trace of rain from April through October, leading to extremely clean fruit arriving at the wineries." --Napa Valley Vinters
