Cabernet Franc Sierra Foothills 18%
Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2%

Bottled August 2005.

Production notes

The grapes for this European-style wine came from the Auburn area of Placer County. The site’s warm climate and red volcanic soil yield distinctly soft Syrah made for enjoying now. The Cabernet Franc came from older vines grown in the Loomis area of the county on decomposed granite soils. The wines, including a dash of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, were made separately and aged in neutral French oak for 10 months before blending and bottling. Drink this wine with duck or grilled pork.
